Clopidogrel bisulfate is a novel antiplatelet aggregation drug similar to thiachloropyridine. Clopidogrel bisulfate is indicated for the prevention and treatment of cardiac, cerebral, and other arterial circulatory disorders caused by high platelet aggregation, such as recent stroke, myocardial infarction, and patients with confirmed peripheral arterial disease.
Clopidogrel bisulfate selectively inhibits the binding of ADP to platelet receptors, followed by inhibition of the activation of ADP and glycoprotein GPIIb/IIIa complexes, thereby inhibiting platelet aggregation. It can also inhibit platelet aggregation caused by non-ADP without affecting phosphodiesterase activity. Clopidogrel affects the lifespan of platelets by irreversibly altering platelet ADP receptors. As a acetic acid derivative of ticlopidine, clopidogrel has the advantages of strong curative effect, low cost and small side effects, and is mainly used for the treatment of atherosclerotic disease, acute coronary syndrome, prevention of stent restenosis and thrombotic complications after intracoronary stent implantation.
