Coenzyme Q10 is a small fat-soluble quinone organic compound widely found in animal and plant cells, which is similar in structure to vitamin K, and is a strong antioxidant when used alone or in combination with vitamin E. It is necessary to drive the body's energy generation (ATP) cycle. It has the function of promoting oxidative phosphorylation reaction and protecting the structural integrity of biofilms. Different sources of coenzyme Q have different numbers of side chain isoprene units, human and mammals are 10 isoprene units, so it is called coenzyme Q10. Coenzyme Q plays an important role in proton translocation and electron transport in the respiratory chain in vivo, it is an activator of cellular respiration and cell metabolism, and an important antioxidant and non-specific immune enhancer.
Coenzyme Q10 is an important antioxidant and immune enhancer. It is used for the adjuvant treatment of congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, sinus tachycardia, premature beats, hypertension and cancer, and for the comprehensive treatment of acute and chronic viral hepatitis and subacute hepatic necrosis.
