Fusidic acid is a narrow-spectrum antibiotic, which has a good antibacterial effect on gram-positive bacteria by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis and has good resistance.
Fusidic acid has strong tissue penetration, mainly metabolized in the liver, and excreted by bile, almost not excreted by the kidneys, low toxicity, bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, good antibacterial effect on gram-positive bacteria, with better drug resistance, while antibiotic-resistant strains such as penicillin and methicillin are still sensitive to this product, and there is no cross-drug resistance between sodium fusidite and other antibacterial drugs used clinically. Fusidic acid is used for osteomyelitis or skin and soft tissue infections caused by sensitive bacteria. It is also used for deep infections that have failed other antibiotic therapy, such as sepsis, pneumonia, endocarditis, etc.
