Carbohydrates compounds are organic compounds consisting of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Carbohydrates is widely found in the plant world, is the main component of plant body, in the physiological and biochemical processes of plants play an important role. Depending on its structure, it can be divided into monosaccharides, disaccharide and polysaccharides. Carbohydrates plays an important role in the process of life activities and is the main source of energy needed by all living organisms to sustain life activities.

Carbohydrate is mainly composed of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen.
It is divided into monosaccharides, disaccharides, oligosaccharides and polysaccharides.
1. Monosaccharides are the smallest molecules of this class because they cannot be hydrolysed into smaller carbohydrates.
2. Disaccharides is a carbohydrate consisting of two connected monosaccharides, which are the simplest polysaccharides.
3. Both oligosaccharides and polysaccharides are long-chain molecules consisting of monosaccharide units made up of glycoside bonds. The difference is in the number of monosaccharide units in the chain: oligosaccharides typically contain 3-10 monosaccharide units, while polysaccharides contain more than 10 monosaccharide units.
