Desmopressin acetate is used for congenital or drug-induced platelet dysfunction, uremia, cirrhosis and bleeding of unknown causes; it can also be used to control and prevent bleeding during minor surgeries; central diabetes insipidus.
Desmopressin acetate is a structural analogue of natural arginine vasopressin, a derivative of vasopressin, and its antidiuretic effect is more powerful and long-lasting than vasopressin, but there is no vasoconstrictor effect, and the side effects of the drug are small. Desmopressin acetate is mainly used for the treatment of von Willebrand disease, urinary tract infection, diabetes insipidus, urinary tract infection, uremia, cirrhosis, cystitis, hemophilia, nephritis, pediatric hemophilia, pediatric diabetes insipidus.
Used to treat diabetes insipidus.
