Ivermectin is a new type of high-efficiency semi-synthetic antibiotic insecticide, acaricide, nematicide, belongs to insect nerve agent, biological penetrant. The mechanism of action is to interfere with the neurophysiological activities of pests, stimulate the release of γ-aminobutyric acid, act on the nerve-muscle junction, increase the release of chloride ions, inhibit the information transmission of the nerve junction, and lead to paralysis and poisoning death of pests and pest mites. Ivermectin is a new broad-spectrum, high-efficiency, low-toxicity antiparasitic drug, which has a good repellent effect on in vivo and in vitro parasites, especially nematodes and arthropods. However, it is not effective against tapeworms, flukes, and protozoa.
