Loratadine competitively inhibits histamine H1 receptors, inhibits allergic symptoms caused by histamine, without pronounced anticholinergic and central inhibitory effects. Loratadine is used to relieve symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny nose and nasal itching, as well as itching and burning sensation in the eyes.
