Prednisone 21-acetate is an adrenocortical hormone drug with anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and other effects.
The mechanism of action of prednisone 21-acetate is the Anti-inflammatory effect: prednisone acetate attenuates and prevents the response of tissues to inflammation, thereby reducing the manifestations of inflammation. Immunosuppressive effects: including preventing or inhibiting cell-mediated immune responses, delaying allergic reactions, reducing the number of T lymphocytes, monocytes, and eosinophils, reducing the binding ability of immunoglobulins to cell surface receptors, and inhibiting the synthesis and release of interleukin, thereby reducing the transformation of T lymphocytes to lymphocytes and reducing the expansion of the primary immune response. It reduces the passage of immune complexes through the basement membrane and can reduce the concentration of complement components and immunoglobulins. Prednisone 21-acetate is mainly used in allergic and autoimmune inflammatory diseases. It is suitable for connective tissue diseases, systemic lupus erythematosus, severe bronchial asthma, dermatomyositis, vasculitis, other allergic diseases, acute leukemia, malignant lymphoma, and other conditions suitable for adrenal corticosteroids.
