(S)-Amlodipine is used in the treatment of hypertension and angina. (S)-Amlodipine belongs to calcium channel antagonists, mainly by blocking the entry of calcium ions outside vascular smooth muscle and cardiomyocytes into cells through calcium channels, thereby relaxing vascular smooth muscle, reducing peripheral vascular resistance, and also has a slight diuretic effect, synergistic lowering of blood pressure. In addition, (S)-Amlodipine can also dilate coronary arteries, inhibit coronary artery spasm, supply blood and oxygen to ischemic myocardium, relieve angina, and mainly treat essential hypertension and angina.
