Salicylic acid is widely used, eczema, psoriasis, pimples, dandruff may be used. Salicylic acid at a concentration of 3%~6% can be used to exfoliate, and above 6% is destructive to tissues. Concentrations below 40% are suitable for the treatment of corns, thick cocoons, and viral warts. Salicylic acid can also be added to acne and dandruff medications. In the pharmaceutical industry, salicylic acid itself is used as a disinfectant and antiseptic for local keratin hyperplasia and skin mold infections. As a pharmaceutical intermediate, it is used in the production of analgesic, diures, acetylsalicylic acid, sodium salicylate, salicylamide, euglycemia, niclosamide, phenyl salicylate, ethylparaben, bismuth hyposalicylate, sulfasalazine and other drugs.
Salicylic acid has the ability to kill bacteria, it is often used as a topical drug for the treatment of tinea pedis, and can also be formulated as an ointment.
