Econazole nitrate is used in the treatment of skin candidiasis, and can also be used for the treatment of tinea corpores, tinea cruris, tinea pedis, tinea versicolor, etc.
Econazole nitrate has antibacterial effect on Candida, chromofungi, coccidioidium, tissue plasma, sporotrichia, etc., and also has antibacterial activity against Trichophyton and so on. It has poor effect on Aspergillus, Schenker's sporotrichia, certain dark spores, mucormyces and so on.
